It was a tough decision. Trust me. I love writing. I stand for everything Womengineer stands for. It’s been an honor to write for and represent this organization. But it feels like a natural ending to step down as blogger now. I wrote my last exam and left Campus a few weeks ago. Emelie, Mia, Sofie, Johanna, Jessica, Tove & Ellen will of course keep rocking the show delivering first class stories from their respective universities.
I’ve always been very honest in my writing, some might find it too personal. But it’s just the way I am, all or nothing. I started my career as a Womengineer blogger with comparing my brain with a harvester – Thank God it only got better from there. I’ve shared many ups, downs & thoughts with you over the past 18 months.
Sometimes I hated on University, like in ”Att gå in i Skrivbordet”, ”UUH – Unified Unix Haters” and ”She’s up all night for good fun, I’m up all night to get compilation”
Sometimes I was really happy, like in “Womengineer om 10 år”, “Every Spring is the only Spring” and “Be Kind Rewind: Universum Awards & Årets IT-tjej 2014”
Regardless, you always listened to me. Thank you <3
What will I do next? I will always be an ambassador for Womengineer and attack people with business cards as soon as I see an opportunity for people helping us or us helping people. It’s sad to close this chapter but I’ve already started writing the next and it looks pretty exciting. I’ve moved to Stockholm to work with Spotify’s design team and concurrently write my Master Thesis about innovation (my favorite topic – woho). I will spend February in San Fransisco and Silicon Valley talking to people, meet companies and maybe even “find myself”. I will practice the art of saying no and look into this thing people call weekend – heard it’s two full days every week where you are free from work – unreal! I will explore the world and hopefully find a city and person that I can love for a really long time, maybe forever. Time to try those wings and fly!
RIP Sofster, Long Live Womengineer
(turn the volume up for this one people)
