This is how Womengineer challenges: full force on internal initiatives – they step in

The Womengineer Foundation strives to have as many female as male engineers graduated in Sweden by 2030. Aroshine Munasinghe has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board and Anna Sjögard has been recruited as Marketing and Project Coordinator to strengthen the foundation in its mission to inspire the next generation in the technology sector.

Aroshine has been involved with Womengineer since 2014 and has been a driving force behind successful initiatives such as “Introduce a Girl to Engineering day” and “Womengineer Day”. Together, these events have inspired over 12,000 young people to explore the world of technology. She is passionate about collaborating even more closely with the school and tech world, to open doors to a more equal and inclusive future for the next generation.

In line with strengthening the foundation’s organization, Womengineer has also recruited Anna Sjögård, who most recently came from Keystone Education Group. As the second full-time employee of the foundation, Anna will work closely with CEO Marie Ideström. With several years of experience in marketing communications, Anna will take on a central role in developing and implementing strategies to market Womengineer’s initiatives and projects.

“I have had the honor of working with Aroshine for several years, and I know that she is a sharp and passionate leader who will take Womengineer to the next level. In addition, welcoming Anna, our new addition to the team, is of great importance for our development. This combination of new perspectives and a lot of energy that can challenge us is exactly what we need,” says Marie Ideström.

During the year, the foundation continues to seek more passionate individuals, regardless of gender, to participate and help create inspiring content and events to reach even more young people around the country.

”"We welcome everyone who shares our vision and values to contact us. We have a fantastic team today, but we need more people to be able to reach out to the entire country and create real change," says Marie Ideström.
