New Technology<\/a> and Womengineer<\/a> are proud to present Wera, a professional network with the aim of empowering and inspiring working female and non-binary engineers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humanity faces major challenges. Meeting these challenges requires a diversity of ideas and perspectives, something that the inclusion of women in the engineering sector can contribute to. Despite many initiatives to include women in the engineering profession, a significant imbalance remains. Women will make up only 301% of engineering students in 2023.* There is also limited representation of women in leadership positions in the industry. Only 251% of engineers in Sweden with management positions are women.**<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wera is an initiative that aims to increase the number of women in the technology sector and strengthen their role in innovation and leadership. By offering meeting places that combine lifestyle and career with a focus on sustainability, we create a community that strengthens the position of women in the engineering profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first event in the fall of 2024 will test the concept directly on the target group and collect feedback for future development. The event<\/a> takes place on November 7th at Google, Kungsbron 2 in Stockholm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our vision is to create a modern and dynamic network that will be an invaluable resource and support for our members. We strive to spread energy, inspire decisions, instill courage and desire, and help our members become the best versions of themselves. We will offer new colleagues, mentors and friends, as well as open doors for business exchange and professional contacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wera is a joint initiative of the Womengineer Foundation and Ny Teknik Group. By combining our strengths, we can make a lasting difference for female engineers. Since 2015, Womengineer has run Sweden's largest event for increased diversity in technology (IGEday). Ny Teknik is Sweden's largest media platform in technology and engineering with almost 1 million digital readers each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this collaboration, we are convinced that we can create lasting change and strengthen women's influence in technology, sustainability and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
