{"id":38425,"date":"2024-02-01T09:49:15","date_gmt":"2024-02-01T08:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/womengineer.org\/?p=38425"},"modified":"2024-02-01T09:49:15","modified_gmt":"2024-02-01T08:49:15","slug":"sa-utmanar-womengineer-full-kraft-pa-interna-satsningar-de-kliver-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/womengineer.org\/en\/sa-utmanar-womengineer-full-kraft-pa-interna-satsningar-de-kliver-in\/","title":{"rendered":"This is how Womengineer challenges: full force on internal initiatives \u2013 they step in"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Womengineer Foundation strives to have as many female as male engineers graduated in Sweden by 2030. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/aroshine\/\">Aroshine Munasinghe<\/a> has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/anna-sj%C3%B6g%C3%A5rd-889809b3\/\">Anna Sj\u00f6gard<\/a> has been recruited as Marketing and Project Coordinator to strengthen the foundation in its mission to inspire the next generation in the technology sector.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aroshine has been involved with Womengineer since 2014 and has been a driving force behind successful initiatives such as \u201cIntroduce a Girl to Engineering day\u201d and \u201cWomengineer Day\u201d. Together, these events have inspired over 12,000 young people to explore the world of technology. She is passionate about collaborating even more closely with the school and tech world, to open doors to a more equal and inclusive future for the next generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In line with strengthening the foundation\u2019s organization, Womengineer has also recruited Anna Sj\u00f6g\u00e5rd, who most recently came from Keystone Education Group. As the second full-time employee of the foundation, Anna will work closely with CEO Marie Idestr\u00f6m. With several years of experience in marketing communications, Anna will take on a central role in developing and implementing strategies to market Womengineer\u2019s initiatives and projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have had the honor of working with Aroshine for several years, and I know that she is a sharp and passionate leader who will take Womengineer to the next level. In addition, welcoming Anna, our new addition to the team, is of great importance for our development. This combination of new perspectives and a lot of energy that can challenge us is exactly what we need,\u201d says Marie Idestr\u00f6m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the year, the foundation continues to seek more passionate individuals, regardless of gender, to participate and help create inspiring content and events to reach even more young people around the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201d&quot;We welcome everyone who shares our vision and values to contact us. The aim is to increase interest in technology among young girls and non-binary people by inviting companies to come on study visits. This year, IGEday will take place on March 31st, when 84 companies will open their doors at around 100 locations in Sweden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<br><strong>About Womengineer<\/strong><br>Womengineer is a foundation that works to increase the proportion of girls in technical education. The goal is that by 2030, there will be as many female engineers as male engineers graduating, as increased gender equality at technical universities leads to increased welfare for Sweden.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over 2,200 participants will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of what technology is and how it is used in society on March 31.
