Ting-Hua Wu

How is it to move to the other side of the world to become an engineer? Ting-Hua Wu is from Taiwan and moved to Sweden to study Naval architecture on Chalmers.

Chalmers has strong reputation and knowledge in this area, which I got several recommendations from my friends and my professors in university.

She has from the earliest childhood been interested in mechanics components, such as elevator buttons and panels. When the students in Taiwan had to choose direction, in the second grade in high school, science and engineering were the most attracted for Ting-Hua Wu. Now she works as Sales and Application engineer at Volvo Penta.

As a Sales and Application Engineer, we sit in the center office in Sweden and provide technical supports to our local application engineers and sales personnel who face our customers on daily base.

She thinks the best with Sweden is:

Equality and respect. People would not be treated differently because of different gender, different work position or different age. People are almost always polite and respect to each other. I’m also enjoy that people always discuss things rationally and without personal emotion.
